Why High-Income Professionals Should Be Reviewing Their Life Insurance Earlier

Professionals in high-paying jobs likley spend a lot of time nurturing their successful careers and growing their investments. However, some people may forget an essential aspect of a  financial strategy – life insurance.

Doctors, lawyers, entrepreneurs, consultants, and self-employed professionals generally have greater financial obligations than other households. Large mortgage loans, student debt, running a business, and family obligations create an expensive lifestyle that relies heavily on regular income.

That is why more professionals should now be considering life insurance while they are still young, rather than waiting until they are older.

One major benefit of buying life insurance is flexibility. Younger and healthier people have the opportunity to enjoy better pricing and coverage options compared to older adults who may suffer from existing health conditions.

More professionals today are not only interested in basic life insurance but also in other types of insurance that can provide living benefits. Depending on the nature of the policy, it may give you access to a portion of your death benefit in the event of certain critical, chronic, or terminal illnesses.

Life insurance is no longer something you should just consider in your final years. Rather, it can be an important step toward income protection and asset preservation.

Living benefits may be provided by riders, which are supplemental benefits that can be added to a life insurance policy and are not suitable unless you also have a need for life insurance. Riders are optional, may require additional premium and may not be available in all states or on all products. This is not a solicitation of any specific insurance policy.
